Finn Wolfhard
It turns out that kid from Stranger Things knows how to make some killer garage rock. Finn Wolfhard (aka Mike Wheeler) dropped the new single “I’ll Let You Finish” from his forthcoming debut album From the Hip, and it is fantastic. For fans of Wilco, Rolling Stones, Izzy Stradlin, Deathcab for Cutie.

Smag På Dig Selv
I got an email from a PR firm about a Danish trio with two sax players and a name I still cannot pronounce. Also, Iggy Pop plays them on his BBC radio show. The last factoid is enough to sell me. So I checked out Smag På Dig Selv, and they are awesome. The only difficulty was in deciding to which playlist I should add this genre-defying band.

Dimitri Nassar
Latin Jazz rhythms, melodies that are both fresh and familiar, and world-class chops from a smoking trio led by Cleveland jazz man Dimitri Nassar. He (piano), Mike Graham (bass), and Phillip Thomas (drums) absolutely crush it on “Elijah’s Dance”.

Adot Kareem
Another exciting, genre-bending international artist, Adot Kareem is a Nigerian musician who incorporates Afrobeats, Hip-hop and more in his Afro-fusion sound. His new single caught my ear with an awesome Amapiano bass drop. Great stuff.
