Two Line Reviews – The Deep, The Chill, and The Weird

Two Line Reviews - The Deep, The Chill, and The Weird 1

I curate two Spotify playlists. When I update them I write short two-line reviews here. Sometimes the reviews are three lines. The rules are not strict.

Two Line Reviews - The Deep, The Chill, and The Weird 2

The organic musical production of this song caught my attention quickly. I love the sound of well recorded and unadorned acoustic instruments. That may have been enough, but then twenty seconds into the tune, James’ voice came into the mix and stopped me in my tracks. This is a beautiful song from a real talent.

Two Line Reviews - The Deep, The Chill, and The Weird 3

At first I though this was just a groovy mellow tune with a crazy line in the lyrics about jumping into traffic. And then that cool guitar break came up in the bridge. Now it is a groovy mellow tune with a crazy line in the lyrics and a cool guitar break. All of those things are awesome.

Two Line Reviews - The Deep, The Chill, and The Weird 4

I can’t decide if this tune matched my mood today, or created it. Either way, it worked. I dig Jailbox’s low vocal harmonies and mellow production.

Artist: Chade Summerset
Track: Dragon Radar
Location: Binghamton, NY

Two Line Reviews - The Deep, The Chill, and The Weird 5

For a brief two minutes Dragon Radar creates a nice landscape with a piano line that sounds like it comes from the score of an old movie, a simple hip-hop beat, and an occasional female voice. Also… cool anime inspired title.
