Mistika Vibz’s Wild Mix Of Carnival Rhythms And EDM Style

Mistika Vibz

Mistika Vibz is a multi-faceted artist and activist working in the Miami club scene. A percussionist, composer and producer he has dropped a series of singles since debuting with “Rezistans” earlier this year. He first appeared here on The Static Dive upon the release of his song, “Girl I need Your Energy” in August. That track combined rhythms and melodies from opposite ends of the world to create a cool mix of dance grooves and psychedelic sounds.

That cross-pollination of cultures is what Mistika Vibz is all about. He makes music that melds the percussive sounds of Hip-hop, EDM, Afro-beat, Zouk and more into his own signature vibe. Though he now resides in the US, he grew up in Guadeloupe, French West Indies. There he was inspired by the Afro rhythms all around him. The sounds of his childhood home feature prominently in his latest release.

“Sound of Drums” is Mistika Vibz’s new single, which dropped on December 11, 2020. The track is a wild combination of carnival rhythms from Guadeloupe and modern electronic dance sounds. Organic beats fold into an EDM production as synth arpeggios and robotic voices mix with acoustic hand drums and timbales. It is simultaneously a very human and otherworldly sound, like the soundtrack to a multi-cultural, futuristic block party.

2020 has been a very tough year for everyone, I just wanted to make a song about celebration, happiness and life. I think nothing is better than carnival music to create this energy.
