DAVA is the professional name of singer/songwriter, Vaclav Polansky. A native and resident of the Czech Republic, the artist uses music as a vehicle to enlightenment, both for himself and for those who will listen. Vaclav is on a journey to better understand his place, and that of humanity, in the universe. Working with American singer-songwriter and guitarist Daniel Levanti, DAVA is releasing a series of songs to YouTube as the duo works toward a full album release later this year.
“Perfect Game” is the latest single from DAVA, released on January 31, 2021. The track is a beautiful acoustic guitar duet. Polansky sings a meditative and melodic examination of how we live, and how we should. Starting from the Zen notion that “there is just this moment, there is just the now,” he asks himself whether or not he is living true to that concept of mindfulness.
The “Perfect Game” of the title is life itself. The idea is that life can be easy, if we do the joyful difficult work of making it so. We just need to get out of our own way. This thoughtful and philosophical exploration is delivered via a beautiful arrangement of two acoustic guitars, a little bit of hand percussion and a touch of strings. There is some really nice playing here, as the two guitarists weave together a perfect Jazz-infused Indie-Folk groove. To stay more aligned with the universe they use 432Hz tuning for their guitars. Judging by the perfect chill vibe they have created, I’d say it is working.
