Rich Jacques is a Los Angeles-based, GRAMMY winning singer, songwriter and producer who has worked with a long list of major artists including; Lisa Loeb, Colin Hay and Maya Rudolph. He has enjoyed success as a solo artist as well, releasing a steady stream of work over the past few years.
“Clear Blue Skies” is the current single and video from Rich Jacques’ latest album “Joy Follows Like a Shadow That Never Leaves.” The song is an airy, poetic Indie-Folk meditation on time, aging and the power of positive thinking. Jacques sings softly of subtle silver linings in a mellow folky tenor, accompanied by his acoustic guitar and ethereal lap steel chords. It’s a beautiful sound that brings to mind some of the dreamier Americana from artists like Connor Oberst (Bright Eyes) and Ryan Adams.
The video was directed by Danielle Rubi whom Rich met through their mutual friend Renee Stahl. It is a beautiful and surreal short film. Jacques says of the collaboration, “…seeing some of the videos she showed me from other artists that she worked with, I asked if she had footage from her travels that could make a really interesting impressionistic video for the song. She came back with this lovely piece.”
