We first heard from Barista in June of this year upon the release of his single “Circular Lives” from the first half of his two-volume album “Open Sesame.” That record introduced us to a talented singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Istanbul, Turkey with a taste for Classic Rock and Pop from the 1970’s and 80’s. Also known as Bahadır Han Eryılmaz, Barista has spent the better part of the last decade producing multi-genre, multi-cultural original music. In that time he has released a string of successful albums, EPs and singles and has connected with fans around the globe.
“Sweet” is the latest single from Barista’s “Open Sesame Vol. 2,” released worldwide to all major streaming services on June 4, 2021. The song opens with a cool, singer/songwriter/storyteller sound for a sort of modern-day Neil Diamond vibe. In the chorus the track opens up to an anthemic Pop/Rock chorus. The singer’s powerful vocal brings to mind the great Steve Perry of Journey. As he delivers his earnest tale of love and longing, layers of acoustic and electric guitars, synths, strings create a broad horizon for this anthemic power ballad. The top-notch band and expert production provide the song with a timeless, radio-ready sheen.
