Kizkrash Goes Hard Politic On New Revonation

kizkrash

Regular readers of The Static Dive are well acquainted with the name Kizkrash. Also known as Keegan McBride, the California DJ and producer has been making music since 2018. He recorded under a few different handles for a while. In 2020 he debuted as Kizkrash and the title stuck. His sound is a wild mix of EDM, Hip-hop and Alternative Rock styles. Although often referred to as a Dubstep artist, that’s really just the starting point. The music goes wherever the vibe takes him, and that is usually into a very cool and experimental space.

On recent tracks like “The Rodent,” Kizkrash has ventured lyrically into social commentary and political philosophy. On that song he called out the tyrants of the world and set his Hip-hop manifesto to a hard Dubstep/Industrial hybrid beat. On his new single, Keegan has upped the ante, both musically and lyrically. The beat is harder and grungier. The message is a Rage Against The Machine-style call for radical, revolutionary action.

“Revonation” is the latest single from Kizkrash, released worldwide to SoundCloud and YouTube on September 10, 2021. The track rides on a hard downtempo beat. Dubstep analog synth bass tones share space with syncopated Industrial percussion and Glitch Trap hi-hats. There is a little bit of a psychedelic influence, but this is no lava lamp stoner track. “Revonation” is a ‘take it to the streets’ anthem. The title itself is a mash-up of the words ‘revolution’ and ‘nation.’

The song reflects a common message directed towards tyrannical abusers that destroy nations.
