Nominated Decade is the professional name of singer/songwriter Mathias Isen. Based in the central Denmark town of Herning, he debuted the project in 2020 with the single “Letters.” Heavily influenced by Emo pioneers like Dashboard Confessional and Taking Back Sunday, Isen started the band in hopes of sparking a revival of the mid-2000s Alt-Rock sound in his hometown.
“Twenty-19” is the latest single from Nominated Decade, released worldwide to all major streaming services on September 10, 2021. Ambient synths and bass guitar provide accompaniment as Mathias and his acoustic guitar reminisce about a not-too-distant memory of love, friendship and The Cure. With all of the emotional power of his Emo heroes and a healthy dose of modern Indie, the singer delivers an excellent performance of a sweet song recalling better times.
