Night Train 357 (pronounced “three-five-seven”) is an award-winning Hip-hop artist from the DMV area (DC, MD, VA). The multifaceted talent keeps busy as a rapper, visual artist and a martial arts expert. Regular readers of The Static Dive remember when he debuted his album “The Nightlife” here in August of 2020. His latest project is a music video for the remix of his song “Drive Me Crazy.” Just in time for Halloween, the short film is a sexy ghost story set to a cool Hip-hop/R&B groove.
In the film, Chelsea Uthoff stars as a curiosity seeker who becomes haunted by the benevolently sexy Daria Mayfair. Mayfair is the alter-ego of actress and cosplaying pinup model, Cat Norris. According to the urban legend presented in the “Drive Me Crazy” video, Daria is also known as the “Ghost Bride from Hell House.” Her mournful spirit haunts the wooded area surrounding the ruins of St. Mary’s College Church.
Though proponents of the story don’t always agree on the beautiful apparition’s intent, in Chelsea’s case Daria Mayfair’s motives are very friendly. Intimately so, in fact. The two young women form a love connection across the astral plane. As the ghostly courtship unfolds, Night Train 357, vocalist NuChoyce and producer ADST perform the short film’s soulful soundtrack live from the haunted St. Mary’s forest.
The song “Drive Me Crazy” is a remixed single from Night Train 357’s “The Nightlife,” the 2021 Wammie Award Winner for Best Rap Album. For 33 years the Wammie’s have honored DMV artists and musicians for their artistic works and impact across the region. On the track, Night Train 357 pays homage to the ladies, even though they drive him crazy. The rapper takes the verses as NuChoyce delivers the soulful chorus over a downtempo Hip-hop groove and smooth R&B keys. It’s a great vibe.
