W!G is the new artistic persona of multi-talented teen star, Katrina Kusa. Although still a teenager, the singer, songwriter, actress, author and influencer’s resume would be the envy of any artist twice her age. She has worked in film, television, theater and even wrote a best selling children’s book. Regular readers of The Static Dive will remember her from a string of singles released over the past 12 months including “Two Times” and “Rising.”
“Candy Land” is the singer’s debut single as W!G, released worldwide to all major streaming services on October 22, 2021. With its slow rolling Trap beat and memorable hook, the track lands stylistically somewhere between Gangsta Rap and Bubblegum Pop. Deep bass tones meet a stark beat and hypnotic synths. The sound fits the lyric perfectly as we hear W!G rap and sing about the loss of innocence.
This song is about the growing pains we face as we get older and losing that innocence we have as children – your reality melting right in front of your eyes.
