Jay Smoove – Who Should I Fear?

  • by

We first heard from Jay Smoove in October upon the release of his single “Melancholy.” That track introduced us to emerging Chicago Hip-hop artist Jayden Jorden. Although he’s been making music since childhood, the talented young emcee just made his solo professional recording debut earlier this year.

Although he is new on the scene, Jay Smoove has quickly made an impact on the Hip-hop scene far beyond the confines of his home in the Windy City. He has dropped new releases monthly including 7 singles and the 6-song EP “Smoove Operator.” Fans are taking notice, with tracks like “Pyro” and “Jazzin” each earning over 160K spins on Spotify alone.

“Who Should I Fear” is the latest single from Jay Smoove, released worldwide to all major streaming services on November 19, 2021. The track pairs a laid-back, midtempo Lo-fi beat with a sample of cinematic strings for a cool Chill-hop vibe. Jay counters that chill mood with a rapid-fire chopping rap. He rhymes about his place in Hip-hop and in life while dropping references to God, Bruno Mars, mental health and brighter days ahead.
