New York City singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist performance artist Cat Greenfield made her wide-distribution professional recording debut in April 2021 with the single “So I Know You’re Mine.” Although the sultry, bossa nova flavored Pop/Jazz tune was her first to be released to services like Spotify and Apple Music, it followed a decade of Folk, theater and film work from the multi-talented musician and actress.
Cat Greenfield’s YouTube channel chronicles her creative endeavors over the past decade, from NYC coffee houses to Disney cruise ships she has entertained thousands around the world. She is a genre-bending musician who has worked in Americana, Pop, Rock and even Bluegrass.
“Deja Vu” is the latest single from Cat Greenfield, released worldwide to all major streaming services on November 26, 2021. The song opens on an acoustic guitar intro. Soon, swirling chiptune arpeggios swell in the mix and the beat drops on an catchy mid-tempo Indie-Pop vibe.
Cat sings a clever breakup song peppered with nursery rhyme and sci-fi imagery. Vocally she slides smoothly between Pop melodies, spoken word stanzas and some well placed soulful Rock howls. She gives a nod to her theatrical originals in the bridge with full orchestra accompaniment and a dramatic monologue before resuming that great Pop groove.
