Volléstad is an independent EDM/Pop producer from Norway who has been turning heads since his debut five years ago. That is when the multi-instrumentalist musician discovered FL Studio and began producing remixes of Pop and Dance hits. Soon he was creating his own original compositions and topping playlists worldwide.
The past year has been particularly productive for Volléstad. Since August of 2020, the prolific producer has released eleven new singles. In that time he has collaborated with vocalists from around the world and connected with hundreds of thousands of fans. Regular readers of The Static Dive will remember his single “Night Fever.” His sound is a unique mix of styles from across the electronic spectrum as he finds inspiration in the music of artists as varied as Dua Lipa and Daft Punk.
“Jury” is the latest single from Volléstad, released worldwide to all major streaming services on December 3, 2021. The song is the producer’s first collaboration with Canadian vocalist Ashtøn Chase. The track opens on an acoustic guitar and vocal intro as the singer tells a tale of the complicated dynamic of an unhealthy relationship.
Soon the beat drops and the track kicks into a mix or organic and electronic instruments driving a cool downbeat groove. Volléstad incorporates more EDM sounds as the song progresses but always maintains a natural element. There is a particularly smooth recurring bass guitar groove that lends the song a cool 70’s Funk vibe.
