Lielack Drops New Single/Video ‘Blossom’

lielack

Lielack is a new three-piece band that rose from the ashes of now defunct Massachusetts group Dearbones. Regular readers of The Static Dive will remember the band from their 2020 single “I Lucifer.” In August of 2021 Dearbones officially announced their demise on social media.

A month later, Lielack debuted with the single “Nu4U.” That track introduced a new direction for three former Dearbones members. Jason Pascucci (Vocals), Andrew Quinn (Guitar) and Jacob Blondin (Drums) traded in the Dark Wave and Goth vibes of that band for a new radio-ready Pop/Punk sound.

“Blossom” is the latest single and video from Lielack, released worldwide to YouTube and all major streaming services on January 18, 2021. The track is a wistful love song written from the perspective of a lonely touring musician. Over a melancholy midtempo Alt/Rock guitar and drum groove, Pascucci sends a love letter to home.

It’s a catchy and clever tune with lyrical references to everyone from Kurt Cobain to SE Hinton’s classic ‘The Outsiders.’ The singer looks longingly through a tour bus window in the direction of home. With a bottle in hand he tells his love, “I’m on the outside, but I wanna be home with you.” The song’s video matches the lovelorn nostalgia with mementos from the couple’s past.
