Phasedge is an experimental electronic composer and producer from La Jolla in San Diego County, California. A lifelong musician, he wrote his first song 22 years ago. Numerous musical projects followed as the multi-instrumentalist musician explored a broad range of popular styles and genres.
In 2021 the prolific producer made his debut as Phasedge with a trio of singles. The songs introduced a talented composer with a taste for classic 80’s synths and uplifting musical moods. Each single was released in advance of the artist’s debut EP.
“Melodies” is the brand new 5 song collection from Phasedge, released worldwide to all major streaming servces on February 2, 2022. The record opens on the electric piano mood and hypnotic electronic arpeggios of “Credit.” The song introduces Phasedge’s avant-garde retro synth vibe and his strict focus on melody, as suggested by the album title.
“Rainfall” follows with a simple melody and minimalist beat, creating a cool, stark sound. “New Rules” rides a bouncing analog synth octave riff and pairs melodic 8-bit arcade music with soft ambient synths. “Starforge” is in the same universe, but with a more dramatic minor-key mood. “Melodies” closes with the feel-good melody and cinematic feel of “Out There.”
My goal is that this music will help people to feel good and uplift their spirits when they hear it.
