Sabir Alim’s New Single Tackles Tough Topic

sabir alim

Since his solo recording debut in November of last year, Sabir Alim has released a string of insightful and provocative singles. On tracks like “Sowing Made EZ,” “Politickal” and “The Devil’s Way” he explored the harsh realities of racial injustice and socio-political inequities in American society. Via his YouTube channel, podcast and original music Sabir has created a multimedia platform from which he fosters discussion and education on these and other weighty issues.

Sabir Alim has been involved in music and entertainment since his early days in Philadelphia. Back then he was DJing, promoting and running operations at local clubs. Now based in Riviera Beach, Florida, Sabir has moved his operation into the digital realm.

“Young” is the latest single from Sabir Alim, released worldwide to all major streaming services on January 25, 2022. On the track, retro synths and a percussive electronic beat lay down a classic mid-tempo 80’s R&B/Pop groove. Sabir enters the mix with a deeply personal, autobiographical tale of sexual abuse. Alternately rapping and singing he recounts events from his own history in which an adult woman sexually molested him in his early teens.

Although worn like a badge of honor for many years, it wasn’t until I began to take a self-inventory as an adult, that I saw the true impact it had on my sexual behaviors, and relationships with women. Plain and simple, it was molestation.
