We first heard from Frettz in November of last year upon the release of his single and video, “Can’t Take It.” That track introduced readers of The Static Dive to a mult-faceted international talent. Currently based in London, he spent his formative years in Spain and has family ties to both India and the Caribbean.
After working with a number of other artists he struck out on his own in 2020. Since then the prolific artist has dropped dozens of tracks and two full length albums. His unique sound is mix of Hip-hop, Trap, R&B and Pop. Frettz explains that his style is inspired by a broad range of artists including; XXXTentacion. Trippie Redd, Tion Wayne and Ed Sheeran.
“Not the One” is the latest single and video from Frettz, released worldwide to all major streaming services on February 16, 2022. A smooth Jazz guitar introduces the track before the beat drops on a laid-back R&B/Trap groove. The emcee matches the mellow mood with a laid-back flow and a scathing dismissal of his ex.
