We first heard from Stanky Love last year upon the release of his debut single “What I Miss The Most.” The track introduced readers of The Static Dive to a talented songwriter and rapper from Providence, Rhode Island. The up and coming Alternative Hip-hop artist has released a total of three singles since that debut.
“Another Person” is the latest single from Stanky Love, released worldwide to all major streaming services on January 21, 2022. The song is the second single from his forthcoming full length debut, “Generation RX.” Ambient synths introduce the tune as a female vocalist enters the mix with her soulful take on the song’s chorus. A downtempo beat drops for a mellow Hip-hop groove featuring elements of Trap and Boombap.
As the song progresses, Stanky Love raps through the verses. The singer and the emcee both deliver tales of love and longing. It is a story as old as time. They have found the partner of their dreams, but that person is partnered with someone else. They each set the perfect tone for this melancholy torch song.
