YvngPope’s New Trap Slow Jam ‘Looking Back’

YvngPope – Looking Back

We first heard from YvngPope in May of last year upon the release of his single “My Dance.” That track introduced readers of The Static Dive to up and coming Hip-hop artist Jonah Parker. After spending a few years rhyming and making beats for fun, the young emcee officially launched his professional recording career in August 2020 with the single “Molly.”

Since then, the prolific rapper from Texarkana has delivered a total of five singles, a full length album and a handful of videos. Tracks like “How You Feelin” and “I’ll Be Fine ” have connected with thousands of fans worldwide. His music is a mix of Pop, R&B and Hip-hop. He pairs deeply personal lyrics with downtempo Trap beats and Emo/Pop guitars.

“Looking Back” is the latest single from YvngPope, released worldwide to all major streaming services on February 24, 2022. A mellow Jazz piano introduces the tune as a soulful female vocalist enters the mix to add an R&B vibe. Soon the beat drops on a slow and low Trap groove and YvngPope steps to the mic. Airy piano chords float on the horizon as the singer delivers a laid-back melodic rap slow jam. He sings lovingly to his girl and reminds her to appreciate what they have.
