We first heard from Mr. Johnny Ba$h in May of this year, upon the release of his single “Don’t Jump the Gun“. That song introduced readers of The Static Dive to an emerging independent singer, songwriter and producer who recently launched a solo recording career after spending years as a fixture in the California underground.
Mr. Johnny Ba$h’s sound is wild mix of classic Punk and modern Indie with a healthy dose of West Coast Hip-hop aesthetic. He pairs Lo-fi guitars with classic drum machine beats and angst-ridden vocals for fearless explorations of mental health and modern identity. Since his debut, the prolific producer has released 7 singles, a full length album and now a brand new EP.
“I Love That Cali Weed” is the current single from Mr. Johnny Ba$h’s brand new EP “Mr. Johnny Ba$h Is A Dope MC,” released worldwide to all major streaming services on June 3, 2022. Ringing New Wave guitars ride an upbeat Indie bass and drum beat as Johnny steps to the mic. With a tone that lands somewhere between Peter Murphy and Nick Cave he sings of his undying love for Golden State ganja and all of its healing powers.
