Alive Like A Suicide – Blood Rose

Alive Like A Suicide - Blood Rose 1
Blood Rose

We first heard from Alive Like A Suicide in December of last year upon the release of their debut single, “Skeleton Bedsheets.” That track introduced The Static Dive readers to a talented and eclectic three piece from Australia. Their sound mixes elements of pop, rock and hip-hop into something completely new.

Since dropping that debut the band has released a total of four singles. Their multi-genre experiments have struck a chord with independent music fans around the world with tracks like pop/punk “Up on the Punk Side.” With their latest, the band explores the hard rock vibes of the fabulous 1980’s.

“Blood Rose” is the brand new single from Alive Like a Suicide, released worldwide via all major streaming services on June 1, 2022. Clocking in at just over six minutes, the track is an epic tale told in lovelorn poetry, multi-part vocal harmonies, metal guitar acrobatics and a healthy dose of art rock complexity. It’s a fun ride for any fan of big hair, smoke machines and killer solos.

Check out “Blood Rose” below. You can also hear the song on the Deep Indie Dive playlist, or listen on your favorite streaming service. We had the chance to chat with the band about the new song. A.L.A.S.

Where are you from?

We’re Alive Like A Suicide, we hail from Western Sydney in NSW, Australia!

How long have you been making music?

All of us have been playing music for about a decade now. As a band, we’ve been making music for about a year and some change.

Who are the musicians involved in your project?

Our members are Mikki Stixx, our vocalist & rhythm guitarist, Jake Harris, our lead guitarist and Djamel Warby-Sullivan, our drummer.

Who are your biggest musical influences?

There’s quite a list! However, some of our primary influences are Red Hot Chili Peppers, Pantera, Metallica, Megadeth, Blink-182, Sum 41 & Frenzal Rhomb. There’s a scroll’s worth more, but those would be our main ones, for sure!

What is your greatest non-musical influence?

Life, is probably the most appropriate answer. A lot of what we write about & emulate with our music comes from our experiences. Cliché? Perhaps. Honest? You bet.

What inspired you to create this project?

All of us are pretty big music nerds, we all love writing and playing music, so coming together to put together our own compositions seemed like a no-brainer. We just love to make music.

What are your plans for the future? (Musically)

We’re looking to put out a number of singles, work our way towards an album, and then repeat. Our plan’s pretty simple: Make music, have fun doing it.

Is there anything else you would like to say?

On behalf of Alive Like A Suicide, and our team, we’d like to thank everyone who’s taken the time to stream our latest single ‘Blood Rose’! It’s been an absolute joy seeing everyone enjoying it as they have been, and a sincere thanks to the Static Dive for hosting us once again!
