Gabrielle Ornate is a genre-fluid singer, songwriter and producer who made her professional solo recording debut in 2021 with the single “The March of The Caterpillars.” Since then the prolific producer has released a half dozen singles of art-rock/alt-pop experimentation. Regular readers of The Static Dive will remember the UK bohemian queen from her singles “Spirit of the Times” and last year’s “Rewrite the Rules.”
Those tracks introduced an artist with a signature sound built on equal parts prog-rock, EDM, hip-hop and indie-pop. Gabrielle Ornate is a virtuosic multi-instrumentalist and soulful multi-octave vocalist. In her music she ties her many diverse influences together with environmental themes, sci-fi poetry and a general positive hippie vibe.
“The Undying Sleep” is the brand new single from Gabrielle Ornate, released worldwide via all major streaming services on August 5, 2022. An ethereal mix of electronic psychedelia and classic 90’s r&b vibes sets the scene as the hypnotic track rides an infectious mid-tempo groove. Gabrielle steps to the mic with a soulful, dreamy and esoteric message of love for the universe. The song’s cool laid-back funk and psychedelic art-rock virtuosity bring to mind some mid-90’s Prince/NPG jams.
