Haris Cizmic is an internationally-known singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist producer and award-winning filmmaker. Originally from Bosnia and now based in the United States, Cizmic first made a name for himself as the leader of the popular Sarajevo band AXA. The group eventually changed their name to INGRAY and moved to Detroit, Michigan.
Since then Haris Cizmic has worked as a solo artist and on a number of other projects. Regular readers of The Static Dive will remember his animated sci-fi rock opera, Romantic Cowboy vs. Space Aliens. He wrote, performed, directed and animated the mini electro-rock opera himself during lockdown. For his latest release, the singer takes the sound and theme into much darker terrain.
“Like a Phoenix in the Sun” is the brand new single and video from Haris Cizmic, available worldwide via YouTube and Soundcloud. Produced by 24-tine Grammy nominee Chris Lieck, the tune is a heavy modern rock tale of love gone wrong, inspired by the songwriter’s recent divorce. Electric and acoustic guitars weave an ominous metal tapestry as a melodic bass and hard-hitting drums lay down a hypnotic rhythm. Haris steps to the mic with a dark fantasy of love, loss, revenge and suicide.
