Zack Black’s Sexy, Sweaty Blues Stomp

Zack Black is a veteran singer, songwriter and producer. Though currently based in Portland, Oregon, his roots stretch back to the East coast. Born in the upstate city of Rochester, New York, as a child his family moved to Lancaster, PA. In his twenties he cut his teeth in Philadelphia’s legendary music scene. 

Over the years Zack Black has performed on stage and in the studio with a number of acts. In 2022 he is launching his solo project with the release of a series of singles. He’s getting things started with a sexy, sweaty summer blues stomp.  

“Christina” is the debut single and video from Zack Black, released worldwide via all major streaming services on August 26, 2022. A downtempo, foot-stomping rhythm beats at the heart of the track. A plucked electric guitar meters out a funky delta blues riff as a harmonica and slide guitar paint the periphery. 

Stepping to the mic, Zack Black sings the praises of the title character. Inspired by the singer’s own real-life long distance romance, we can hear the sincerity in his howl as he calls out for “Christiiina.” It is a great, raw and grungy sound that brings to mind the work of the legendary Tom Waits. That’s no mistake.
