PostmodernGypsies’ New Father/Son Jazz Collab

  • by
postmoderngypsies

PostmodernGypsies is the professional name of the father/son jazz duo, Fred and Adam Hilligardt. The veteran musicians began working as a team in 2020. Fred started his career as the guitarist for St. Louis band The Crestmen before launching a successful career as a songwriter for the legendary Motown Records. Regular readers of The Static Dive will remember his son Adam as one half of the pop group Neil and Adam.

The duo debuted in October of 2020 with two tracks;. First came the mostly acoustic piano/guitar ballad “Remembering Tomorrow”. The Hilligardts followed soon afterward with a more contemporary electric vibe on the song  and the more electric contemporary jazz “Urban Pastorale”. After a brief hiatus they are back with a brand new piece.

“Ages” is the latest single from  PostmodernGypsies, available worldwide via all major streaming services. On the new track Fred and Adam return to the organic/acoustic feel of their first single. The multi-instrumentalist duo offer an ensemble of piano, bass, drums and saxophone for a chilled downtempo and slightly melancholy jazz meditation. It is a beautiful piece featuring beautiful performances all around and warm, intimate production.

Check out “Ages” below. You can also hear the song on the Deep Indie Chill playlist, or listen on your favorite streaming service. Follow the links below to connect with PostmodernGypsies. Get on their socials and get in the loop on all of the music to come from this talented father and son team.
