Natnikole’s New Portland Hip-hop – PMF

  • by
natnikole

Natnikole is an emerging independent hip-hop artist making his debut in 2022. However, the veteran rapper’s new music is just the latest project in a career that started back in 2005. He and the whole Northeast Legends crew  are active players in the Portland, Oregon hip-hop scene.

“PMF ” is the debut EP from Natnikole, released worldwide via all major streaming services on September 5, 2022. The record’s title was inspired by Big Meech’s BMF (Black Mafia Family). Over the course of three songs, the rapper paints a picture of the sometimes harsh reality of life in his hometown.

The record opens on “Mama Stay”. Classic soul vibes ride a downtempo trap beat as Natnikole and his crew deliver a chill ensemble rap about friends, family and loyalty. “Dead Presidents’ ‘ follows. Dramatic piano music introduces the track. Synths and strings enter the mix and add to the cinematic vibe. Soon the beat drops on a mellow hip-hop funk. Natnikole steps to the mic freestyle verse about life in Prescott before the track drops to a laid-back hip-hop instrumental. The rapper enters his closing thoughts on “Outro”.
