Tone 30 is the professional name of independent producer and recording artist, Josh Walker. The Arizona-based artist made his professional solo debut in April of this year with the release of his single “High Desert”. That track introduced a skilled guitarist and a sonically adventurous experimental composer who recently left a successful career in the software industry to pursue his musical dream.
Since his debut, the prolific producer has released a half dozen singles as well as the 8-track album, Eccentricities of the Desert. His instrumental pieces feature guitar almost exclusively and are often inspired by the expansive desert of his home state. With only occasional minimal accompaniment, Tone 30 paints ethereal soundscapes and mysterious post-rock scenes.
“Muddled Cherry” is a recent single from Tone 30, released worldwide via all major streaming services on September 2, 2022. A hypnotic chordal riff beats at the heart of the tune as Josh’s Gilmour-esque lead guitar interjects soulful, blues-infused phrases. Subtle use of delay, distortion and phaser adds a slightly psychedelic hue to the recording.
