“By My Own” is the debut EP from Yo-Blake, released worldwide via all major streaming services on November 9, 2022. The six song collection takes us deep into his eclectic musical world. The record opens on “Alive”. The downtempo escape fantasy mixes an ambient synthwave scene with a percussive groove.
The dark-pop EDM of “Midnight Lover” is followed by the experimental indie-pop funk of “Don’t Need Me”. The song explores the debilitating effects of anxiety of personal relationships. The track is Yo-Blake’s most successful to date.
The title track “By My Own” is a club-ready self-love anthem. The experimental dance banger mixes chill house vibes with some cool psychedelic moods. The track is also Yo-Blake’s current single. “Take Me Down” is an avant-garde hip-hop track about untrustworthy acquaintances. The record closes on the dark and introspective “Far Away”. Yo-Blake explores his own memories over a dark and melancholy electric piano ballad.
