Simon Power & Marion Borg’s Inspiring ‘Lifted’

Simon Power is a singer, songwriter and philanthropist who makes music as a means of connecting with others. He writes songs in hopes of having a positive social impact, not with dreams of massive commercial success in mind. The songwriter’s unique specialty is in writing specifically for seniors who are facing challenges like bereavement and other hardships unique to their demographic.

By day, Simon Power is an IT executive at Cisco Systems in London. Through his work with the company’s ‘Giving Back’ program, he met Tony and Marion Borg. Tony is a former wrestling celebrity in the UK and Marion is, among other things, a poet. After sharing her poems with Simon Power, he asked if he could set one of them to music. They headed to BigJam Studios in Kent, and a song was born.

“Lifted” is the new single by Simon Power and Marion Borg, available worldwide via all major streaming services. The song opens on an organic ensemble of bass, drums, electric piano, acoustic and electric guitars. They lay down a bluesy smooth-jazz vibe as Simon steps to the mic. He delivers a soulful reading of Borg’s beautiful and heartbreaking prayer. It is the story of a lost soul, nearly broken by the world, who finds the tiniest spark of faith to continue onward.
