South Florida’s resident spoken-word poet philosopher returns with a message of unity and compassion. GaREE All is a singer, songwriter, former professor, and retired IT manager. For the past three years, the independent recording artist has been publishing his poems and songs via all major streaming services, as well as his own YouTube channel.
Readers of The Static Dive will remember GaREE All from tracks like “Mother Tough” and “Have Respect”. In his songs, he pairs witty and insightful social commentary with lilting melodies and a beat-poet’s cadence. His latest ads a bit of peace, love, and understanding to the mix.
“Humanhood” is a new live performance video from GaREE All, available worldwide via his YouTube channel. The clip was recorded live at the artist’s favorite local stomping ground, Arts Garage. In the video we see the singer with mic in hand. Unencumbered by instrumentation, armed with only anecdotes and couplets, he delivers an earnest call for empathy.

Humanhood
Absolutely Nothing wrong with Brotherhood, or Sisterhood,
But for all of us it would be good,
To celebrate our common HumanHood.
Ancient Humankind was blessed with a mind that could design
And make things of utility.
But this mind was inclined to sink to bigotry
When encountering someone with a different look,
So a potential friend was mistook for a crook.
Humankind needs to learn that all bigotry is sad and truly bad,
No matter what the nationality or skin color of the lass or lad.
For our home planet’s future good,
We should all celebrate our common HumanHood.
Yuppies Jack and Jill perhaps honestly say they are not racists
in order to signal their virtue,
But an overweight person walks by, and Jack and Jill quickly revert to
The form of bigotry called fat shaming, though they know nothing of this human’s bio,
Perhaps life has hit them with many a low blow, or maybe they don’t have enough dough
To buy Jack and Jill’s organic kale, even on sale.
So, Jack and Jill, ditch your blaming whether it’s fat shaming or something else,
‘cause if you don’t stop your bigot spigot, then a bigot are you,
No matter how much virtue-signaling you accrue.
None are perfect and none really know what a fellow human is going through.
Humankind needs to learn that all bigotry is sad and truly bad,
No matter what the nationality or skin color of the lass or lad.
For our home planet’s future good,
We should all celebrate our common HumanHood.
Bigotry takes many a form and all do needless and avoidable harm.
The hostility of bigotry can be aimed at the physical: weight, height, gender, sexual orientation situation, age, ethnicity, or color of skin, all are a sin and promote social toxicity.
Or maybe our know-it-alls, Jack and Jill, are bigoted towards some religious views.
Here’s some news: we all must choose to either turn off completely the bigot spigot
And open our hearts to love from the wings of a dove,
Or admit that our virtue-signaling is lame,
And we belong in the hypocrite’s Hall of Shame.
With EV, VR, Blockchain, Medicine 3.0, AI,
HumanHood is advancing to the verge of history’s new era, in which every gal and guy,
Will have fair shots at a nice slice of the pie.
But still some want to Divide us by gender or color of skin,
And that’s a sin, ‘cause ultimately we’re all Kin.
Humankind needs to learn that all bigotry is sad and truly bad,
No matter what the nationality or skin color of the lass or lad.
For our home planet’s future good,
We should all celebrate our common HumanHood.
Surely it will take a long time to end all bigotry
But let’s start now with you and me.
