Chad Rubin is a veteran independent musician whose musical career began in childhood. He performed with his musical family as a child in his hometown of Phoenix, Arizona. In the subsequent years numerous musical projects followed well into adulthood before the multi-instrumentalist singer-songwriter took a detour for a few years in corporate America.
Ultimately however, the artist could no longer deny his muse. He ditched the cubicle farm and launched his solo career. Since making his debut in 2012 Chad Rubin has dropped a dozen singles as well as the 2022 full-length album Feels. Regular readers of The Static Dive will recall recent singles “Body Language” and “Just Another“.
“Urgency” is the brand new single from Chad Rubin, released worldwide via all major streaming services on May 30, 2023. An acoustic guitar opens the track as the singer steps to the mic with an introspective meditation on finding his Zen in a chaotic life. Chad wrote the song immediately after meeting his future wife, a moment that brought his life into focus. Soon the beat drops on a funky alt-pop groove colored by jazzy syncopated vocal melodies, lush harmonies, and a fabulous fuzz-tone guitar solo.
