Brownsuede is the professional name of the songwriting and recording duo, Lud Creary (guitar) and Doc Martin (vocals & keys). They made their recording debut in 2020 with an eponymous five-song EP. That record introduced two attorneys from Los Angeles who turned a side gig into a career as purveyors of mellow, jazz-infused R&B, pop, and soul music.
That debut record currently has over 300K streams, and counting. The group found similar success with follow-up singles “In My Dreams” and “See You Again”. They have scored major radio play on Real 92.3 in Los Angeles and 106.1 KMEL in the Bay Area, and their songs “The One” and “Fade Away” have topped numerous college charts.
“Shine” is the brand new single from Brownsuede, released worldwide via all major streaming services on March 17, 2023. Creary’s jazzy Major 7th chords opens the track on a breezy summertime vibe. Doc Martin steps to the mic to deliver a upbeat and soulful love song. A live bass and drums rhythm section lays down a cool funk as horns and backing vocals paint the edges of the mix.
