Regular readers of The Static Dive know MC Shep well. We first heard from the Atlanta, Georgia native upon the release of his debut 2022 single “Super Shimmy Shuffle“. That track introduced multifaceted singer, rapper, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist producer Shep Eppinger. After years of working behind the scenes, the veteran musician is taking his turn at center stage.
Since his debut, the prolific producer has followed with eight more singles, an EP, and two albums. He has found new fans around the world with popular tracks like “Come Dance With Me” and classic soul groove “Text Sugardaddy”, released in March of this year. On July 11, 2023, MC Shep dropped his latest release, a 12 track LP titled The Musical Adventures of MC Shep.
“Still Crushin” is the fun, funky, and defiant new single from Shep’s new album, available worldwide via all major streaming services. The track rides a classic analog-synth fueled funk groove. On the mic, barely stopping to take a breath, guest rapper Lynnette drops a rapid-fire old-school braggadocio freestyle as she taunts her ex with a cool confidence.
