We first heard from Joe’s Groove Huddle last year upon the release of their single “Believe Me“. That track introduced The Static Dive readers to the collaborative rock & roll project of German bassist, songwriter and producer Jochen “Joe” Kinzig. Working with musicians around the world, Joe launched the recording project in 2020 in response to the unexpected downtime of the pandemic.
Since their 2021 debut, Joe’s Groove Huddle has released six singles. The project has connected with fans around the world thanks to popular tracks like last year’s “Strong”. The band’s sound is a funky fusion of classic 70’s progressive rock, 80’s metal, and modern day alternative.
“Heading to Myself” is the brand new single and video from Joe’s Groove Huddle, released worldwide via all major streaming services on August 11, 2023. The tune opens on a mellow, jazz-infused funk groove. On the mic, the singer offers an introspective tale about breaking free from the rat race. In the chorus the song launches into a power-chord fueled inspirational melodic rock anthem. Kinzig is joined on the track by Eric Castiglia (vocals), Benedikt Staud (guitar), and Christian Fier (drums).
