We first heard from Pastor Weed in June, upon the release of his single “Aye Aye“. That track introduced The Static Dive readers to a veteran recording artist and songwriter who has been producing hip-hop, reggae, and dancehall jams for more than twenty years. In that time he has shared the stage and studio with legends.

A native of Brooklyn, New York, Pastor Weed is a proud first generation Trinidadian-American who infuses his beats with deep island vibes. He made his solo debut in 2016 with the single “Impulse Loving”. Now after a seven-year hiatus, he is back with his second single of 2023.

“If Today’s Your Birthday” is the brand new single from Pastor Weed, released worldwide via all major streaming services. He is joined on the track by rapper and fellow Brooklynite, Tre$$. The track rolls on a classic Caribbean groove. On the mic, the two vocalists deliver a funky and uplifting HBD with the fantastic refrain, “It’s my cake. My name’s on it, so I’m gonna eat it.”
