Zachary Campos is an MC, singer, and songwriter from San Jose, California. In recent years he has written and recorded a number of original punk, hip-hop, and indie-rock projects. He debuted a new solo project in March with the album Funky MC.
His distinctive sound combines elements of old-school hip-hop from the 1980s, classic punk rock from the 1970s, and indie rock from the 2000s. He writes personal observations about life and presents them in organic, genuine, and accessible indie songs. On Friday, the prolific producer dropped his new post-punk inspired EP.
“Spirituality” is the first single from the brand new EP Profound Knowledge by Zachary Campos, released worldwide via all major streaming services on April 12, 2024. A downbeat indie-rock bass and drum and groove opens the track. A punk guitar plays slow power chords as the singer enters the mix with dreamy metaphysical poetry in a soft and dark tenor that brings the great Ian Curtis of Joy Division to mind.
