Greg Loftus’ New Americana Heartbreaker

Greg Loftus is a veteran independent alt-country singer, songwriter, bandleader and recording artist. A Northeast native, he spent a decade in Austin as the front-man of popular alt-country band Carpetbagger. In 2017, he moved back home to Massachusetts and launched his furniture building business, Narrowland Woodworks and Design

However, the unplanned downtime of the pandemic prompted the singer to pick up his guitar once more, and a new solo project was born. In 2021 he released the album Western Medicine. Regular readers will remember the single “When My Day Comes”. This month Greg returns with the first new track from his forthcoming album No Kings in the Wild.

“Miss Marigold” is the brand new single from Greg Loftus, released worldwide via all major streaming services on May 9, 2024. The singer steps to the mic with his barstool lament as a live ensemble  slides into the mix with bass, drums, honky-tonk piano, steel, electric, and acoustic guitars. In a raspy high tenor, Loftus delivers a heartbreaker of a torch song with a gospel-infused chorus that recalls the timeless Americana of The Band and the late-great Robbie Robertson.
