The Static Dive Drops New ‘Cool Hand Bossa’ 12-Inch Single Remix EP

The Static Dive just dropped a new EP inspired by the classic 12-inch singles of old. The Cool Hand Bossa (12-inch single) features two new mixes and a previously unreleased demo of the fabulously loungey original “Cool Hand Bossa” from the 2023 Latin-jazz experiment, Bluelight Sessions, Vol. 1.

The record opens on the “VIP Room Trip-hop Mix”, a groovy downtempo remix inspired by the chill 90s trip-hop vibes of bands like Morcheeba and Thievery Corporation. The second mix is “Cool Hand Badass”, a phonk/hyperpop freakout from gamer music extraordinaire, SxR LÜCÏFËR. The Bluelight EP mix follows, before the record closes on the original two-guitar one-take demo, much of which is used in all subsequent versions of the song.

The Static Dive is the professional name of multi-instrumentalist composer/producer Bob Smith. Bob plays every instrument on the original and is also the remixer on the trip-hop version.
