Jake Brantley is an emerging experimental singer, songwriter, and composer from Huntsville, Alabama. Regular readers of The Static Dive will remember his single “Coconut Water“, released in May of this year. That track introduced a multi-talented recording artist and composer with an eclectic sound.
Originally working as an instrumental artist specializing in video game music, Jake Brantley dropped his debut album VoxBlade OST in 2022. However, it wasn’t long before he got on the mic. Since then, Jake has released a string of genre-bending bops. His latest is a shout out to the sights and sound of his youth.
“Eco City” is the brand new single from Jake Brantley, released worldwide via all major streaming services on June 28, 2024. The track opens on electronic arpeggios and a funk guitar riding a retro electro-pop beat. Jake steps to the mic and matches that syncopated groove with a lighthearted eco-friendly vibe. The song’s sights and sound were inspired by the Frutiger Aero design aesthetic, which was ubiquitous in early-2000s pop-culture.
