Regular readers of The Static Dive will remember Heidi Elgaard from previous singles “Twin Flame” and “Fly Away” now. Those tracks introduced a veteran singer-songwriter and recording artist from San Francisco who returned to music in 2020 after a two-decade hiatus.
Back in 1996, Heidi Elgaard was an aspiring young recording artist. Working with accomplished producer Ed Goldfarb (Pokemon Series, Apocalypse Now Redux) she released her debut album The Hazy Blue Project to critical acclaim. The singer then spent the next 20 years raising a family. Now focusing again on her music, the multi-talented singer-songwriter has released a string of new, previously unreleased, and reissued recordings.
“Tetherball” is the brand new single from Heidi Elgaard, released worldwide via all major streaming services on November 21, 2024. The track opens on a percussive acoustic groove. Soon the beat slides into a moody mid-tempo alt-pop vibe. On the mic, the singer lends her signature radio-ready alt-pop alto to an introspective examination of the spiritual and psychological weight of worldly things.
