The Static Dive – Blue Light Sessions, Volume 2

The Static Dive steps back into the blue light. A year ago, the New York composer and multi-instrumentalist producer (aka Bob Smith) introduced his new retro jazz vibe with Blue Light Sessions, Volume 1, which is still getting airplay on terrestrial and online stations around the globe.

This December, Smith offers Blue Light Sessions, Volume 2, a second 6-song set of lounge moods, blues licks, and Latin grooves from the house band at the fabulously fictitious Blue Light jazz club. The new record dives even deeper into his soulful and syncopated sonic world, from the joyful Latin fusion jam “Havana Buddha Blue” to his groovy and percussive take on the holiday classic “Auld Lang Syne”.

Bob Smith has been making music since the 1980s when he was pitching 4-track demos in the zine scene. In the 90s he toured the Northeast college circuit as the lead singer and guitarist of the ska/funk/jam band Shu. Since then Bob has written and recorded hundreds of songs as a solo artist and with other projects. He now records as The Static Dive and works as one half of the House of Static production team and record label.
