Dig into what’s new on the Deep Dive playlists. We’ve got r&b from Texas, jazz from the Big Easy, queer indie-pop from New York, and deep house from France.
Bhalayn - Ignition
Ignition had me hooked off the rip with sweet analog synth and bass tones. Then Bhalayn steps to the mic with a smooth and soulful seduction. The song is the lead single and title track of the San Antonio-based R&B artist’s (formerly known as Nyalah) forthcoming EP. Check it out on the Deep Dive : Hip-hop and R&B playlist.

Nicholas Payton and Butcher Brown - So What
Nicholas Payton and Butcher Brown are two hot young jazz artists who have combined forces for a cool and funky tribute to genre legends John Coltrane and Miles Davis. Check out this syncopated take on Miles’ “So What” on the Deep Dive : Jazz & Classical playlist. You can pick up their album A Supreme Blue on vinyl from SchoolKids Records.

teenatown first appeared on these pages in February of this year. She is a self-described “unapologetically lesbian” songwriter who is quickly making a name for herself with infectious pop hooks, professional production, and impeccable performances.
