We first heard from GLOWW in November of 2020 upon the release of his second single “Reinvent the Love.” That track introduced readers of The Static Dive to a powerful and emotional Dark Pop sound. Lyrically GLOWW’s songs examine the complex psychological tug of war inherent to interpresonal relationships.
The otherwise anonymous GLOWW is a mysterious character. Opting not to even show his face or divulge his place of origin, the multi-talented singer, songwriter and producer has created what he calls a “musical environment.” With elements of Trip-hop, DarkWave and Pop he concocts emotionally complex, soulful and poetic soundscapes.
“Elegy №1” is the latest single from GLOWW and his first in over a year, released worldwide to all major streaming services on January 22, 2022. The artist hasn’t missed a beat in his absence. The track opens on dark minor key ambient synths and a powerful, percussive downtempo beat. Ethereal backing vocals accompany the singer as he enters the mix with a soulful lead. He matches the dramatic mood of the instrumental with a mournful and longing soliloquy.
