Mr. Johnny Ba$h is back with another proto-punk lo-fi rocker. Regular readers of The Static Dive are well acquainted with the prolific performer. He has appeared here twice before upon the release of his singles “Don’t Jump the Gun” and “I Love That Cali Weed.” Those tracks introduced a complex indie rock artist making music that challenges listeners to look beneath the surface.
With songs that deal with real world issues like mental health problems and addiction, Mr. Johnny Ba$h serves up a genre-fluid hip-hop/rock sound that is equal parts old-school and lo-fi new. The result is an urgent energy that pulls listeners in and keeps them there. Since his debut in early 2022 he has released 7 singles, an EP and a full length album.
“Exposure Therapy” is the brand new single from Mr. Johnny Ba$h, released worldwide to all major streaming services on June 17, 2022. Clocking in at under one minute, the track is a big beat tribute to the great punk bands of the 1970’s. Johnny steps to the mic and rides that indie rock bass and drum groove with a quick health-check report on the effects of his exposure therapy.
This song is about getting better and being happy.
