heavy america

Heavy AmericA is a three-piece rock band from Boston, Massachusetts. They debuted in 2015 with a self-titled 6-song EP. The Static Dive readers were first introduced to the genre-bending three-piece in 2019 upon the release of their monster rock single “Motor Honey (Peace)“.

Michael T. Seguin (guitar, vocals), Dan Fried (drums), and Budd Lapham (bass) are a power trio with a sound built on Marshall amps, Les Paul humbuckers, and a rhythm section that brings power and precision in equal parts. Since their debut Heavy AmericA has dropped more than a dozen releases and have connected with fans around the world. From riff-rock jams (“Call You Tomorrow“) to quirky alternative bops (“Crushed“) and  psychedelic vibes (“If You Care“), they have amassed a rich and diverse rock and roll catalog.

“Pretender” is the brand new single from Heavy AmericA, released worldwide via all major streaming services on February 16, 2024. Sequin opens the track with a signature open string guitar vamp. Soon the beat drops on a slow and grungy T-Rex style groove. On the mic, the singer offers the tale of a rocker who is wearing his loner cool like a badge of honor.
