The records represent just the latest project from a versatile and prolific NorCal musician with a deep catalog of cutting edge indie-rock and hip-hop.
With a sound equally influenced by alt-rock, punk, and hip-hop, Zachary Campos pairs an indie aesthetic with the lyrical style and flow of old-school rap. On his latest single and video, the rapper pays tribute to his late dog Juni. Sonically the track is a shout out to the Beastie Boys’ funk-fueled Paul’s Boutique/Check Your Head era.
“Precision” is the brand new single and video from Zachary Campos, released worldwide via all major streaming services on April 26, 2024. The track opens on a hard old-school beat. A live bass and wah-wah guitar enter the mix as the track lands on a laid-back funk groove. On the mic Zach drops another nod to the B-boys, recalling the late-great Buddhist bassist/rapper MCA with a bit of metaphysical freestyle.
