David Arn is an award-winning singer, songwriter, and producer who first appeared on these pages more than five years ago. Regular readers of The Static Dive will remember the Maryland-based song man from tracks like “Losing Track of Kimberly” or his powerful song and video “The Only Truth I Know“. That short film documented the eerily barren New York City streets during COVID lockdown.
A frequent collaborator, on each new release David recruits musicians from a roster of talented friends. As he recently began working on his fifth album, Arn unexpectedly lost his voice. Undaunted, he called on his collaborators once again and they gave voice to the forthcoming LP.
“What a Heart Must Do” is the first single from David Arn’s new album Ventriloquism. The song is available worldwide via all major streaming services. A solo piano opens the track as guest vocalist Kerri Hardwick leans into the mic. She delivers a heartfelt ballad, as a mother offering life advice and unconditional love to her child as an ensemble of strings expands the lush soundscape.
