Regular readers of The Static dive will remember Paul Schindler from previous releases like “The AI Song” and his debut EP Lyrics by Paul, released in February of 2024. Those records introduced a multi-talented musician, writer, and technologist who only recently found his way to songwriting during the pandemic. In the decades prior to his musical awakening, Paul made a name for himself as a world-renowned journalist in the computer industry.
Paul Schindler worked for over twenty years in the tech industry. He was published in high-profile periodicals like Computer Systems News, Information Systems News, Information Week, PC Week, Byte Magazine, and Windows Magazine. One time, he even took his high-tech intellect to the Jeopardy stage. Now the San Francisco creator works with musicians, singers, and producers around the world to bring his lyrical creations to life.
For his latest release, Paul Schindler offers an EDM remix of his song “If Offered A Choice”. Appearing on his Lyrics by Paul EP, the original is a folky and metaphysical tune about meeting his love again in a reincarnated life. Deep ambient synths open the track as the singer steps to the mic to offer his hopeful existential dream, and the beat builds to a chill house groove.
