It’s a Deep Indie Holiday at The Static Dive. We know that the best part of any Holiday Season is the music. In 2020, as the world struggles to survive through a pandemic and we wave holiday greetings to our loved ones from behind masks and glass, music may be the only thing about which to be festive. So let’s have a Festivus for the rest of us and dig into some Rock, Pop, Hip-hop and EDM cheer. Of course, around here we do it Indie.
Deep Indie Holidays is our new Holiday playlist featuring some of the best seasonal music we received over the past couple of years. Some of the names on the list will be familiar to regular readers. From Izzy Spring to Gina Naomi Baez and Teresa Baleri to Zeela, you’ve read about these songs and artists here.
Kilo House is an good friend of The Static Dive, and the LA-based composer and producer contributed is “Kilo All the Bells” to the list. The track finds Kilo dropping his signature Bass Trap vibe on the holiday season. Although it was originally released in 2016, it delivers the perfect 2020 holiday message. An 808 drops bass and synthetic bells chime as a recurring sample of an English woman wishes us a “Merry Fucking Christmas.
There a plenty of new names on the list as well. Yoji slow jams her “Christmas Bae” while Jared Crespel laments “Christmas 2020.” The list goes on and will certainly grow over the next few days. Queue it up at your next Zoom Holiday party, and join us in a new Indie Christmas tradition.
Happy Holidays to one and all from The Static Dive.
