Min the Universe is back and this time he’s taking us into the great unknown. Regular readers are well acquainted with the New York City-based EDM composer, DJ and producer. In recent months we have featured his creative forays into film/TV scoring (“Westworld Reanimated“), SynthMetal (“Instant Decays“) and inspirational Pop/Dance (“A Million Fireflies“). Now Min is back to kick off the summer festival season with an EDM track that explores fundamental questions about space and time.
Named for the NASA spacecraft that explored the icy moons of Saturn for over a decade, “Cassini” is the brand new single from Min the Universe, released worldwide to all major streaming services on June 25, 2021. Ambient synths introduce the track as we listen to a scientist explain NASA’s goal of, “Nothing less than a complete description of the universe we live in.” It is the continuation of Albert Einstein’s lifelong search for the ‘Theory of Everything.’ A mission that lofty deserves an epic soundtrack, and Min delivers.
Over the course of 5:30, the visionary creator takes through deep space dance vibes and astral soundscapes. The countdown begins and launches us into the cosmos on an interplanetary journey. We are buoyed by sprawling waves of lush keys and percussive electronic arpeggios. Beautiful analog basses and synths solo and duet as we explore infinity. It is a dramatic, cinematic scene powered by an infectious and driving Deep House groove.
